The Integrated Nanotechnology & Biomedical Sciences Laboratory led by Dr. Warren Chan is currently interested in studying and understanding nanomaterial interactions with biological systems and bio-molecule sensing. Our group aims to solve biological questions through engineering of novel nanomaterials (e.g., inorganic and polymeric nanostructures) as well as the development of microtechnology (e.g., micro-electromechanical systems and capillary flow systems). Researchers in the lab acquire a broad range of skills, including nanomaterial design, polymer synthesis, microfabrication, cell culturing, and animal handling. Our hope is that through a fundamental understanding of molecular processes and technology developments, will lead to the design of innovative diagnostic schemes and therapeutic strategies.
